Google has already updated the app for users of Android 3.2, so users of different versions got completely different experiences. Now, things have been put back in order, as the new update makes the YouTube app very similar.
The new app now has the same user interface as the the newer versions of Google’s mobile OS and it also features preloading. This lets you watch videos in your queue while charging your device or while on a faster network without annoying buffer times. The latter feature must be enabled though. Just click the menu button and then Settings.
Next scroll down and make sure you tick Preload Watch Later and Preload Subscriptions.
Remember, this will eat up space on your smartphone’s memory. The interface looks just like the one I’ve been using on devices running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). It’s much smoother and easier to use and the viewing experience has changed for the better. If you’re using a Froyo or Gingerbread device, make sure you get the new app in the Google Play Store.
